Jamie Lou has worked with many phenomenal authors as a developmental editor with Simon & Schuster, Wiley Publishing, Row House Publishing, and Rise Books. As Editorial Director, ghostwriter, book coach, book production manager, and book proposal writer, at Rise Literary, she has worked on over thirty titles since 2020. Some notable titles she’s worked on include, Incantations Embodied, The Antiracist Business Book, The 3 Things, F*ckboys Are Boring, and Break Bread on a Budget.

Jamie’s articles have been published in Thrive Global, The Startup, Slackjaw, The Writing Cooperative, P.S. I Love You, and Jane Austen’s Wastebasket. and her children’s stories have reached children across the globe.

Jamie is also an award-winning filmmaker, screenwriter, director, film editor, and producer. Her films have won ten film festival awards, across the country. In 2021, her dramatic feature screenplay, Lady Lazarus, placed in the top 10% at the Academy Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship and the top 18% at the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition. She’s worked as an ambassador for the MOM Film Festival and as a mentor for fifth grade writer/directors at the local elementary school Variety Show. In 2012, she became a produced playwright at the Secret Rose Theatre in North Hollywood for her comedic play, Let’s Have a Baby. Jamie believes stories have the power to brighten the world, shine a light on injustice, and spark connection between human beings from all walks of life.
